Summer Undergraduate Tuition

The undergraduate tuition rate for Summer 2024 is expected to be $1,336 per credit hour per credit hour for courses numbered 100-399. This is the 50% reduced rate. Please refer to the Student Financial Services website for details.

(Undergraduates enrolled in graduate level courses numbered 400 and above pay full undergraduate tuition.)


Summer Graduate Tuition

The rate for Summer 2024 is expected to be $2,182 per credit hour. Please refer to the School of Graduate Studies for more details.

(Graduate students enrolled in courses numbered 100-399 pay 50% of the graduate tuition rate.)


Summer Financial Aid

Summer funding is limited to Federal Loans, private loans, and Federal Pell Grants for those who qualify. There is no institutional gift money at the undergraduate level in the summer except under very extraordinary circumstances. Students who enroll in Summer Term and who will enroll in the Fall semester may receive  Federal Loans for the summer session. Students who are graduating in August may apply for private loans. Students graduating in August and who are enrolled in both the three week May session and the regular Summer Term may apply for Federal loans.

Billing and Payment

The Student Financial Services Office (368-2226, Sears Library Building, Suite 219) bills registered students via their Case email accounts. Visiting students should activate their email accounts in order to receive their bills. Students do not have to pay at the time of registration. Bills are emailed in mid-May, mid-June, and early July. Late fees for non-payment are imposed in mid-July. Please see the Student Financial Services Office website for exact billing and due dates.

Refunds

Visiting students who have registered for any of the summer sessions and wish to cancel their enrollment must contact the Office of Undergraduate Advising Support, Sears Building, room 340.

CWRU students who wish to cancel their enrollment should contact their four-year advisor in Undergraduate Advising Support.


Course Cancellation Policy

Most undergraduate classes (numbered 100-399) offered by the College of Arts and Sciences have a 4 student enrollment minimum. Lab courses and 1-credit courses have a 6 student enrollment minimum.

Low enrolled classes will be canceled by the Wednesday before their start date. Please register early to ensure your chosen class will run.

Students may register through the third day of the session if the class has sufficient numbers. Students may drop a course without penalty through the third business day of any given session.


Drop/Add

The drop-add period ends at the end of the business day (4:30 p.m.) on the third day of each session.

Last day for drop/add for classes beginning May 13: May 15
Last day for drop/add for 4, 5, and 8 week classes beginning June 3: June 5
Last day for drop/add for classes beginning June 17: June 19
Last day for drop/add for classes beginning July 11: July 13

For dynamically-dated classes (those that do not conform to any of the regular summer sessions), the last day to register is the day before the class begins.
